Modular proof-of-concept for QC lab – from idea to integrable solution
How do you create an automated solution for lab use that can be documented, scaled and integrated into future production lines?
That was the question posed by one of our pharma customers – and the answer was a compact, modular unit developed as a proof-of-concept for their Quality Control laboratory.
At PPS, we work closely with our customers to develop proof-of-concept solutions when standard equipment doesn’t suffice. We use prototypes to define requirements, test functionality and ensure that the solution can be scaled for real-world production. It’s an approach that creates both confidence and momentum in the innovation process.
Automated assembly and serialization
The unit is designed to assemble vials and caps, apply labels, and serialize each product.
The assembly is handled by a collaborative robot, which ensures high precision and stable operation within a small footprint.
Ready for scalable production
As the system is modular, it can easily be connected to existing or future parts of the customer’s production line. This makes the solution ideal for companies looking to explore automation on a small scale – with a clear path to full production integration.
Remote monitoring with Beckhoff WebHMI
The entire cell is operated and monitored via Beckhoff WebHMI, allowing for remote control and supervision. This gives the user full insight into the process – even from another control room or external location.
Compact and efficient
One of the key advantages of the solution is its compact size, making it particularly well suited for laboratory environments with limited space – without compromising on functionality or flexibility.
